Today I was very surprised. I was going to get a taxi from outside Grande Centre Point Hotel, on Mahatlek Luang Soi 1, to Phetburi Soi 35. I got in to one of the taxis that were parked outside Centre Point and told the driver where I wanted to go and he told me that it would be “400 Baht, Krap”. It is not very far, if you use the meter the fare is no more than 50 Baht. I knew because I’ve gone that way before and at this time of day there was not much traffic. I got out of the taxi, which surprised the driver. I walked out to Ratchadamri road and got a taxi in the street, it cost me 47 Baht instead of 400 Baht so I gave the driver 100 Baht because I felt I still got a good deal. The driver thought so also and he left me with a smile on his face. I think the taxis that are parked outside the hotels do like this a lot. I feel sorry for the Farangs who don’t know better than to go with them. But I also understand the taxi drivers, that they just want to make money like everyone else. But I was surprised that he tried this on me since I am Thai, like I would pay that much for a taxi ride.

Sunday night, around midnight, I went to meet a guy in Centre Point. I know him since six months ago. This guy comes to Bangkok for meetings every two months and stays for about three or four nights before he goes back to Denmark. This guy is married and has a family in Denmark but he calls me every time he comes to Bangkok. I like to see him because I know him already and he is very nice to me. I know there will be no problems when I see him. He is older than I am but that’s OK because usually older guys are more caring and good hearted.

Tonight I will go see him again around midnight. I will see him in his room because he don’t like to go out so much but thats better for me also. That way I can get some more sleep.

Bed Supper Club and Q-Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 11 are two favorite places for Thai freelance working girls. Sometimes you have Thai movie stars and Thai models that go out to these places also. In this area there are a lot of bars and nightclubs. It’s also close to Nana Plaza, Sukhumvit Soi 4, and Soi Cowboy, Sukhumvit Soi 23, which are two of the most famous red-light districts in Bangkok. There are many bars in this area where girls do “lady work”. They are scattered around the Sois (Soi means small street in Thai). For example there is Gullivers in Soi 5 and Biergarten in Soi 7. If I go to Bed Supper Club or Q-Bar I know it will not be easy to get a customer because in this area there are to many working girls. If I go out there I do it to relax and to be with my friends and party not to work. Off course if some guy comes to talk to me and want to do something I will ask for money but I am not there looking for work. When I work I prefer to go to the CM2 bar in Novotel hotel, on Siam Square, or to Spasso in the Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel because there it is easier to find a guy. Usually the guys there are also nicer and can pay more. In Spasso it is also not so easy to get in if you don’t dress nice and look proper. In Bed Supper Club and Q-Bar most of the people come in groups and are there to drink, have fun and party with their friends. Most guys don’t go there to find a girl. It happens that you meet someone but it is not too easy.

I also like to work in the hotel bars because many times the guy has a room in the hotel so you don’t have to go far and it feels safer that way. And sometimes when I get a customer who has a room in the hotel I can work quickly (sometimes the guy wants to take it slow but then I don’t let him ;-P ) so I can go back to the bar and maybe find another guy. In Spasso, if I have gone with a guy already they will not let me come back in but in CM2 they will. Before when I could not speak English I took 100 USD for short time but now I don’t go short time for less than 5000 Baht. As I get better I have to increase my price.

One time I asked a friend of mine how much she was going to charge a guy that she was with for short time. She is very beautiful, she is tall, have long hair and dark skin (many Farangs like dark skin) and the guy really liked her, you could tell. She said that she wanted 3000 Baht and I asked her why she did not ask for 5000. If the guy could not pay 5000 she could come down a little but I did not understand why she started with a low price. If you start with a low price you will never know how much the guy is willing to pay. Maybe he is willing to pay 5000 but if you say 3000 you will only get 3000 you will never know. If he is willing to pay 4000 and you ask for 5000 you can come down to 4000, but if you started at 3000 you only get 3000. If you start low you loose money. Before you ask for a price you have to get to know the guy a little so you have some idea about how much he can pay. I told her to ask for more because I want the girls to get the most they can out of their work.

Today I left the Grande Centre Point Hotel, on Mahatlek Luang Soi 1, at about 11 am. Outside I saw the same taxi driver that yesterday try to charge me 400 Baht to take a 50 Baht ride. He smiled to me and asked me to ride with him, he said “meter, meter”. I smiled back to him and said thank you but today I would like to walk. Off course I got in another taxi as soon as I was out on Ratchadamri road.

Tonight I will go out to eat dinner with the guy from Denmark. He asked me to choose the restaurant and I think I want to go to Baan Klang Nam. I like that restaurant because I think it’s very nice and they have good Thai food, a good view of the river and it’s not so expensive.
