Hotels in Hollywood are geared to every imaginable type of traveler and are sprinkled throughout this famous neighborhood dedicated to the film and television industry. Hollywood Blvd, Highland Avenue, Franklin Blvd and Sunset Blvd are the main streets where hotels can be found. There are no five star hotels, only two four star (a third, the W will be opening in early 2010), and many family friendly budget properties. Tour buses and operators depart from Hollywood for points all over Los Angeles, and there are many sights and attractions in this area.

At the center of Hollywood is the new Hollywood and Highlands entertainment center. This complex is full of dozens of stores, restaurants and is home to the Kodak and Mann’s Grauman’s Chinese theaters. In the exact middle of the Hollywood and Highlands center is the Renaissance Hotel. Rooms in the Renaissance have large glass windows that treat guests to dramatic views of all of Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. Across the street from the Renaissance on Hollywood Blvd is a hotel called the Roosevelt. Tracing its roots back to the 1920s today’s Roosevelt Hotel is a state of the art property with redone rooms, lobby and amenities. The outside façade still maintains its old 1920’s charm and the hotel is home to several swank lounges including Teddy’s and the Library Lounge. The Walk of Fame featuring over 2,300 stars dedicated to celebrities of all genres line the sidewalks along the stretch of Hollywood Blvd that the Renaissance and Roosevelt are located.

Franklin Ave runs parallel to Hollywood Blvd and runs on the backside of the Hollywood and Highland center. Visitors looking for budget hotels on Franklin Blvd. and Highland Avenue will find them here. Where Orchid Drive meets Franklin there are several family friendly properties. These include the Magic Castle Hotel, Hollywood Highland Gardens Hotel, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, Liberty Suites Hotel and the Orchid Suites Hotels. All of these hotels are clean, efficient and less than a five minute walk to the Hollywood and Highlands Entertainment Center. Hotels on Highland Avenue include the Hollywood Tower, Best Western Hollywood Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Suites. Many of these hotels on Highland have family areas including pools, lounges and dining areas.

Further down in Hollywood about a mile south of the Hollywood and Highlands Center are the economy hotels of Sunset Blvd. These hotels include the Rodeway Motor Inn, Days Inn and the Saharan Motor Lounge. Sunset Blvd unlike Hollywood Blvd is targeted more to the independent travelers and local LA club going set. Traffic this stretch of Sunset can be heavy on Friday and Saturday nights.
